Celebrating 25 Years of The Best in Women’s Duckpin Bowling
The win of my
second star, could never compare to the win of my first. The feeling of winning
your first star can never be duplicated. But...winning my second star still
meant a lot. Jill, my daughter, and my biggest fan, was finally there to see me
win. Jill travels with me most of the time. She did miss me win my first star
and the All Star. Not this time, finally she was able to see my victory. I
knew when I threw my first ball in the tenth frame all I needed was five pins.
All I kept thinking was please let me get five pins on the first ball. When I
did, my next thought was “Jill”. She is here! I never could find her in the
crowd, but I sure could hear her yelling, "throw the ball mom". This win was
for you. Now I have to work on getting one for Amy, my other daughter! I would like
to thank everyone at Johnson’s. They provided us with a wonderful weekend.
Sure hope they have us back again. Thanks, guys!! I would also like to say
thanks to my "other" biggest fan, Doug. He is always there supporting and
routing me on. I would never be able to keep my head in the game without him.
Thanks, Hon! To all my
friends out there -- I heard you in the back, thanks. It means a lot to hear
familiar voices while up on the lane with your knees knocking and trying to walk
to the line to throw the ball. To Theresa
Zikis who kept me together at the score table in between frames. There is one
special thank you I would like to send out. It’s to Lynne Heller. We have
been friends for over 25 years (Going way back to our youth league days. I’m
showing our age now!). Lynne came to me in the third game of the division
finals. Told me to "get the lead out, this is your tour to win, I can feel it".
Sure enough she was right. Thanks Lynne, for your support and help over the
years. It meant so much to me. Nothing compares to this. My words of
wisdom for the up and coming youth bowler - Bowling is just a game. Enjoy it.
Some days are better then others. Keep a GOOD ATTITUDE about your bowling.
Always, always think POSITIVE. Getting down on yourself or mad because pins
aren’t falling for you will only ruin the whole game. CONGRATULATIONS
